Ordinance 77 of 1864

4. It is enacted that the Copies of the Edition of the Ordinances relating to King compiled under that Ordinance stamped with the Seal of the Colony shall be taken and deemed to be the lawful Ordinances o'tting King as they existed at the date of the passing of the last Ordinance inserted therein.

The Ordinance 31 of 1864 repeats Ordinance 25 of 1864, so that the Edition of the Ordinances published in 1865 ceases to have any authority.

I think that this is inconvenient and that the repeal of Ordinance 31 of 1864 should be postponed until the new edition of the laws relating to King, which the Commission appointed in 1882 is engaged upon, has been completed and is preparing to be authenticated.

I would therefore draft an amendment to Ordinance 77 of 1864 by Statute to repeal so much of Ordinance 31 of 1864 as repeals Ordinance 25 of 1864 and notice the despatch.
